FAUST'S MAGIC FOR SALE

1.   Cingalee's "Broken & Restored Dinner Plate". Complete with all the original accessories.  Hammer, tray for pieces of plate, paper bags (and how to prepare them), a stage cloth, special circular tray for vanishing small piece of plate found on the stage, 40 white dinner plates, and Faust's switchboard for final restoration of plate in frame. Plus 6ft Dragon plywood cut-out, "scrimmed" and painted, on stand to hold paper bag if working with one assistant. 2.   NOT FOR SALE AT PRESENT!  Amac's Giant Three Card Illusion "Find the Lady", with sole performing rights throughout the world.  Featured in turn by Amac, The Great Lyle, and Faust. Positively the Most Amazing Illusion Ever Conceived. When Faust does decide to sell "Find the Lady" offers over £75,000 will be invited.  Currently a documentary is being made by a London Film Production company about Faust & "Find the Lady", and the illusion was rehearsed and filmed at Pendle Hippodrome theatre in Colne April 11th to 15th.

5.   Vanishing Bowl of Water on Tray.  Mephisto-Huis large copper bowl and original aluminium circular tray.  Plus large circular brass tray from Port Said, Egypt, for improved appearance.  £150.

6.   Giant Botania, in a large brass bowl (Bowl from Egypt) on a low wooden stool.  Improved method of fixing the flowers for easy repair if necessary, designed by my mechanic Arthur Cradock.  £150.

9.   The Smoke Vase.  (A replica of Chung Ling Soo's from Dick Ritson).  Delayed action.  In padded travel box. £250.   (Price reduced to £125 because the lid has a small piece of glass broken out of the rim.  The prop works  perfectly well, and the working of this delayed action is a closely guarded secret.  I can give the buyer the address of two glassblowers who could make another glass lid to fit the vase.)

145.  Arabian Vase & Rope.  Large authentic brass vase from Turkey, rope inside, and vase remains suspended, and can be swung from side to side.  Spectator tries, but cannot do it.  One only.  £35.

146.  Doves from the Air.  Chu's Magic Studio Dove Basket. £75.  Wave your cloak or a cloth in front of the basket and produce a dove in the wooden basket.  Repeat for second dove.  Or, use the Taylor-Made Dove Catching in Mid-air Net for catching two doves, one at a time, with this basket.  Net, extra  £25.

147.  Another Dove Basket, made by Jack Hughes.  £45.

151.  Fire Box. (Taurus Magic). Stainless steel box with open top and bottom is shown empty.  Fire appears from box, then is suddenly extinguished, silks produced, more fire from box, fire extinguished, and dove appears from box.  £65.

153.  The "Bean" Card Shooter Holdout.  Taylor-Made.  £85.   Several available.

155.  The Multiplying Billiard Balls. Three white wooden balls, 48mm diameter, with fibreglass shell.  Taylor-Made.  Exactly as used by Faust the Magician in his De Biere/Lyle routine.  £35.

158.  Wooden Box for transporting four doves, with removable framed wire mesh insert, so that the lid can be left open in the dressing room.  Complete with a wooden perch, water and food containers, and canvas bags for food and grit.  Also suitable for transporting a rabbit. Measures 46 x 30 x 24 cms.  £20.

167.  Box of various Coin Holders.  Made by "Marco" in brass for Faust to use for "The Miser's Dream" with an ordinary champagne bucket.  A pair of coin droppers for 1/2 dollar size coins (coins drop one at a time), a Kellar type Coin Holder for 1/2 dollars, a pair of spring-loaded coin producers with finger clips for 2p size coins, and a pair of coin holders fitted with safety pins for producing two stacks of 2p size coins.  Lot for £30.

169.  Red velvet cushion with gold tassel corners for Coronet (item No.48) previously listed.  £15.

173.  Finger-Flame.  Made by Theatre Effects.  £5.

191.  Very large Firebowl stage set-piece.  Chrome plated.  Measures 11-1/2" diameter on a stand 10-1/2" tall.  Bowl has a slotted tube in its base containing material for soaking in paraffin or whatever to keep the bowl burning for at least 3-4 minutes, or longer if simulated asbestos is used.  £30.

237.  A replica of Murray's coat-tails servante, with pockets for holding six shot glasses for the running gag whereby Murray produced a tot of beer from under his coat tails at the end of small tricks involving spectators from the audience he had invited on stage.  Two suitable glasses supplied.  Four more similar glasses required, plus rubber covers. £15.

339.  "Where do the ducks come from?"  Made for me by Gil Leaney.  Can be used to produce, ducks, doves or rabbits.  £100.

340.  50mm Coloured Balls & Shell.  Wooden balls, 50mm diameter.  One white with white shell, and one each of red, yellow, and blue.  Shell is a perfect fit, so that at the beginning of the routine the white ball with white shell can be tossed in the air without separating.  £40.  All in a Taylor-Made "scrimmed" wooden travel box with individual compartments.

341.  Cigarette Holder Vanish.  A long gold-looking cigarette holder is wrapped in a tabloid sheet of newspaper.  Paper is crushed into a ball and thrown on the floor or into an opera hat.  £8.

343.  Brass Bowl 10.5" diameter and 8" high with wire gauze inside the bottom of the bowl, covering a clip to hold a lit cigarette, to produce smoke as unlit cigarettes are magically produced and thrown into the bowl. Plus a Cigarette Tank for 3 lit cigarettes, a dummy cigar, and a corncob pipe.  £30.

353.  Two decks of playing cards as sold by Woolworths in the 1940's.  In mint condition.  Prepared by Granville Taylor for use as Fanning Cards.  Complete with a "scrimmed" cardboard box of fanning powder (zinc stearate).  The red backed Indian cards are the type as used by Faust the Magician from the 1940's onwards in all his shows, and still in use. £10.
